Lungs: cryptococcosis in an immunocompromised patient (PAS stain)

The yeast wall is underlined by PAS staining whereas the capsule is hardly visible (interest of the Muci-Carmin staining or the alcian blue pH acid). The inflammatory cell response is usually absent when the patient is immunocompromised.
