Skin: sporotrichosis - asteroid body (HES staining x200)

A microabscess in the epidermis due to Sporothrix schenckii. An asteroid body is present in the middle of the nodule. The fungal section shows some radiating eosinophilic rays (Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon).
