Liver: penicilliosis - histolopathological examination (silver staining after HES stain x400)

The spores pf Talaromyces marneffei (formerly Penicillium marneffei) are well underlined by the silver staining. Some of them are characteristic of Penicillium marneffei with a central septum (arrow). They are disposed in clusters into the histiocytes. The culture on Sabouraud medium will allow the precise identification of the fungus.
