Mycelium of Mucorales (PAS stain x250)

In the sinus, generally, hyphae of the Mucorales are wide (coenocytic or siphoned), little or not septate, from 5 to 20 µm in diameter. The PAS staining underlines the cell wall. Genus and species identification will be obtained by culture.
