Lung: invasive aspergillosis - histopathological examination (HES stain)

Lung. A necrotized lesion and the inflammatory response with neutrophil granulocytes. Aspergillus hyphae with visible regular acute branching, giving a “dead wood branch aspect”. The purple cell wall is well stained with HES.
