Sinuses: Aspergillus fumigatus - conidiophores (direct microscopic examination)

A nearly entire vesicle of Aspergillus can be seen into the specimen collected from a sinus. In the sinus, the presence of oxygen is favourable to their growth. The shape of the vesicle and the uniseriate phialides on the tip of the conidiophore suggest Aspergillus fumigatus. This species can be responsible for aspergillosis.
