Tinea capitis - endothrix invasion (direct microscopy x1000)

The type of hair parasitism is endothrix. The hair is completely filled with spores, from 3 to 4 µm in diameter. This aspect evokes a tinea capitis due to a Trichophyton species as the causative agent.
