Onychomycosis due to a dermatophyte - superficial leuconychia

Unusual presentation of onychomycosis (3%). It is the consequence of the invasion of the superficial layer of the nail plate. The collection of the specimen sampling is easy. The sample should be taken from the plate surface by scraping the white area which should ensure the cure. Fungi responsable for this infection are dematophytes and rarely moulds.
