Trichosporon pharyngitis (PAS staining)

Tonsil. Oral mucositis coating. PAS+ blastospores and hyphae are seen in tissue section. Usually the Trichosporon colonizes the skin and the digestive track. Disseminated trichosporonosis in immunocompetent hosts is very rare.
