Acanthamoeba castellanii – Trophozoïte : peau (HES x1000)

Les amibes dont celles appartenant au genre Acanthamoeba peuvent être l’origine d’infections disséminées chez les patients immunodéprimés. Le pronostic redoutable d’où la nécessité d’un diagnostic précoce. Une forme végétative est visible au centre de la photographie. Il s’agit d’un diagnostic difficile, posé ici en post-mortem, chez une patiente transplantée pulmonaire pour mucoviscidose. L’agent impliqué était Acanthamoeba castellanii (génotype T4).
